From The Northwich Chronicle of 16 December 1982: "Pretty Pat is the war vets pin-up - ATTRACTIVE 38 year-old mother of two Mrs. Pat Chrimes, of 23, Mere Lane, Sandiway, has been chosen the new Poppy Dolly at Sandiway and Cuddington Royal British Legion. Pat, who is branch poppy organiser, was chosen from seven contestants who bidded for the title at the Legion headquarters last week. It is her third title in two years. She was previously Sandiway and Cuddington's Miss Royal British Legion and also the Miss North Cheshire Royal British Legion title holder. She is well known in the area where - in addition to organising the poppy selling - she is warden at a group of pensioners bungalows. ..."
