In 1921 Horace St. Clair was employed by Messrs. Ramsbotton & Co. Blouse and Robe manufacturers of 3 St. George's St., Macclesfield. The death record and the 1939 Register record for Horace S's wife Laura give the same exact date of birth so, as she died in Buckinghamshire, it is credible that Horace S also died there. Thus a Find-a-Grave record for Horace St Clair GOUGH died 22 January 1968 Amersham, Buckinghamshire is presumed to apply, and the unusual name leads back to a Births Index record for Horace St. Clair GOUGH born 1884 Q2 Wimborne, Dorset. In the 1921 England Census Horace St. Clair declared his place of birth to be Wimborne, Hampshire, but there is no such place. |
