From The Birmingham Daily Post of 5 October 1964: "GIRL OF 13 FOUND CRUSHED In a partly constructed house on a new estate at West Hagley, near Stourbridge, on Saturday, Jennifer Mary Chrimes, aged 13, of South Road, West Hagley, was found lying crushed underneath a heavy fireplace surround. The girl had gone to see the house by herself in Long Compton Drive, about half a mile from her home, as a schoolgirl friend and her family were going to live there. The surround had been left lying against a wall before being installed, and the girl was found by a child who had been playing near by. A neighbour said: 'She was lying underneath the fireplace.' 'We immediately went for the police, and mouth-to-mouth respiration was tried without success.' The girl, an only child, was a pupil at King Edward VI High School for Girls, Birmingham. Her father, Mr. B.R. Chrimes, is a lecturer at a teachers training college in Birmingham, and his wife also teaches."
