Alternative birth day (1939 Register): 30 October. In the 1911 census, Dorothy Ruth, aged 16, was still living in Wirral, Cheshire with her mother Isabella. In 1921 Dorothy Ruth, single, was living with her mother and step-father. In 1921 Dorothy Ruth was employed by Formby Urban District Council at Formby. The death record implies a birth year of 1895 which should be 1894, but I still believe this to be the correct death record. Dorothy Ruth's Grant of Probate reads: "COTTIER, Dorothy Ruth of 26 Sheen Rd Wallasey died 25 March 1979 Probate Liverpool 2 July £35744." |
