In 1921 Margaret Helen was attending school 'Whole Time'. In assigning the marriage record to this person I am presuming that the birth record has been transcribed incorrectly as Margaret N when it should have been Margaret H. The interpretation of the N/H on the birth index image is not clear. There is no other Margaret H in this research to the marriage date, and the unmarried Margaret is of the right age and location. The above is subsequently confirmed by the 1939 Register, and by the death record in the name of Margaret Helen Fairhurst. From The Ellesmere Port Pioneer of 21 April 1993: "OBITUARIES - MRS. M. FAIRHURST The funeral took place on April 15 of Mrs. Margaret Fairhurst of Aaron Nursing Home, Ellesmere Port. Mrs. Fairhurst, who was 80, died at the nursing home on April 6. A funeral service at Blacon Crematorium was conducted by Elizabeth Jewkes. Mourners: Ann and Danny (daugher and son-in-law); Keith and Christine (son and daughter-in-law); Mr and Mrs Thomas Chrimes, Mr and Mrs W.E. Chrimes (brothers and sister-in-law); June (sister); Mrs Hancock, Gillian Micklethwaite, Mr and Mrs A Chrimes (nieces and nephew); Mrs. A Chrimes, T. Chrimes, A Chrimes, J Knight, P Collins...." Margaret Helen died 12 days after her husband. |
