A length of piping led from a gas main under the stairs to the bedroom. The discovery was made by his brother-in-law, Mr. Jack Chrimes, motor engineer, of 25 Olive-road, who was called by Mrs. Mealor when she found the doors of her home locked and could not get any answer, on returning from work on Wednesday."
