From The Ellesmere Port Pioneer of 12 February 1997: "OBITUARY - MR T CHRIMES The funeral took place at St. Thomas' and All Saints, Whitby, on January 24 of Travers Chrimes who died at Aaron Court Nursing Home on January 15. age 77. The Rev. Richard Wiffen officiated at the service. Mr Chrimes, formerly of Milton Road, Ellesmere Port, had worked as a pavior for the highways department of Ellesmere Port and Neston Borough Council. He was the widower of Mrs Grace Chrimes and father of P▮▮, J▮▮ and A▮▮▮▮▮. Born in Rake Lane, Little Stanney, he was a former chorister at his parish church and a very keen gardener. During the Second World War he served with the Army in the Maritime Regiment. Family mourners: P▮▮, J▮▮▮▮ and A▮▮▮▮▮ (daughters and son), ... Mr and Mrs W E Chrimes (brother and sister-in-law), ..."
