From The Cheshire Observer of 20 June 1942: "NORLEY - WEDDING - The marriage was solemnised at Delamere Parish Church on Wednesday by Rev. G.S. Payne, of Mr. Norman Chrimes, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Chrimes, Cow-lane, Norley, and Miss Dora E. Hassall, youngest daughter of the late Mr. J. Hassall, and of Mrs. Hassall, Fishpool-lane, Delamere. Mr. M. Chrimes, brother of the bridegroom, was best man. The bride's attendant was Miss Joyce Oultram, of Kingsley. The bride, given away by her uncle Mr. John Nicholas of Stockport, wore ... The bride was presented with two silver horseshoes by Joan Vernon, her niece, and Michael Chrimes, nephew of the bridegroom. The honeymoon was spent in Llandudno."

From The Northwich Chronicle of 12 August 1982: OBITUARY Mr. N. CHRIMES The funeral took place at Walton Lea Crematorium of Mr. Norman Chrimes, who died at his home, Norley Bank Lodge, Norley, on July 24, aged 70. The Rev. W.M. Davies officiated. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Chrimes had worked for 25 years with the North West Water Authority. He is survived by his wife and two sons. Family mourners were: Mrs. Dora Chrimes (wife), Mr. and Mrs. E. Chrimes, Mr. and Mrs. D.A. Chrimes (sons and daughters-in-law), Roger Chrimes (grandson), Mr. and Mrs. M. Chrimes, Mr. A. Chrimes (brothers and sister-in-law), Mr. and Mrs. E. Lewis (brother-in-law and sister), Mr. and Mrs. T. Hassall, Mrs. J. Ashley, Mrs. J. Hassall, Mr. F. Vernon (brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law), Mr. M. Chrimes, Mr. and Mrs. Newbiggin, Mr. R. Vernon, Mr. and Mrs. E. Edwards, Mrs. M. Houchin, Mr. F. Willets, Mr. J.T. Hassall (nephews and nieces), Mr. R. Evans, Mr. and Mrs. S. Taylor, Mr. and Mrs. F. Shallcross (cousins). Other mourners were: Mrs. H. Walton, Mr. and Mrs. D. Rutter, Mr. and Mrs. B. Davies, Mrs. B. Rutter, Mr. Reg Hardman, Mr. and Mrs. L. Hardman and Sally, Nr. and Mrs. R. Hardman, Mr. and Mrs. G. Blackman, Mrs. D. Buckley, Mr. and Mrs. G. Toft, Mr. and Mrs. E. Hawthorne. Representing North West Water Authority were: Mr. K. Howarth, Mrs. J. Youd, Mr. R. Eaton, Mr. N. Dudley, Mr. C.A. Price, Mr. R.A. Whitlow, Mr. G Crank, Mr. R. Bell, Mr. S. Weedall, Mr. H. Dickenson, Mr. D. Bennion. Bearers were: Mr. D. Buckley, Mr. L. Hardman, Mr. A. Robinson, Mr. B. Rutter. Donations in lieu of flowers were for Crowton and Norley Parish Churches. Arrangements were by G., R. and P. Barclay, of Norley."
