From The Crewe Chronicle of 27 August 1960: "WEDDINGS - MR. G.J. WETTON AND MISS AGNES [sic] CRIMES [PHOTOGRAPH] The wedding took place at St. Barnabas's Church, Crewe on Saturday of Mr. Graham Jenkins Wetton, only son of Mr. and Mrs. H Wetton, 117, Walthall-street, and Miss Anne Crimes, foster-daughter of Mrs. R. The matron of honour was Mrs. S▮▮▮▮▮ Davies and Miss D▮▮▮▮▮ Brown was bridesmaid. Both wore ... Mr. H. Maden was best man. After a reception for 50 guests in the Victoria Hotel, Mr. and Mrs. Wetton left for a touring honeymoon in Cornwall, ...." The information that Anne was fostered is consistent with the 1939 Register where she was living with the family of Lawrence and Rose Heath at 28 Ramsbottom Street. It is therefore surprising to read that "The bride was given away by her father".
As Anne was fostered, was that also the case for her seven siblings?
