The 1836 marriage record is assigned to this Ellen because subsequent census records give Ellen Butcher's place of birth as (1841: 'Not Lancashire') and (1851, 1861: 'Norton, Cheshire') The residence of both Thomas and Ellen at the 1836 marriage is recorded as 'Pilkington' which is not understood. I cannot find Thomas or Ellen on the 1871 England Census. A Deaths Index record for Ellen Butcher 1865 Q1 Runcorn may apply. Burial was at Daresbury (ch not given) on 22 Jan 1865 age 52y. This would fit a scenario where Ellen returned to her area of birth after her husband Thomas BUTCHER died in 1863. Note that Ellen had been baptised at All Saints, Daresbury. |
