Maria used the name CHRIMES at her marriage, and falsely declared her father to be Thomas CHRIMES.
The 1851 UK Census, though at the unusual location of Paddington, London gives Maria's correct age and place of birth, and also gives James's occupation of coachman consistent with his occupation at marriage.
