From the Liverpool Weekend Echo of 11/12 September 1976: "Suicide - after marriage fails. A 33-years-old secretary committed suicide because of a marriage breakdown, a Chester inquest was told. Mrs. Patricia Chrimes wrote a note and then bandaged a rubber hose to the exhaust pipe of her sports car. The exhaust fumes killed her. Corroner Mr. John Holloway recorded a suicide verdict on Mrs. Chrimes, of Bridge Drive, Christleton, near Chester. He said she had killed herself while the balance of her mind was disturbed. 'It was because of worries and anxieties over the failure of her marriage,' he said. Pathologist Dr. Thomas Holliday said Mrs. Chrimes died of carbon monoxide poisoning. Her husband, 37-years-old machine tool fitter, A▮▮▮ Chrimes, told how he had left his wife. They had both contacted solicitors over divorce proceedings."
