Ronald had previously been thought to be the child of William Henry CRIMES b.1899 and Edith Emily WILLIAMS, but this is now discounted by the newspaper report of the wedding of Josephine CRIMES b.1926 describing her as "only child". The parents shown here provide the only credible alternative.
CheshireBMD gives the location of the 1957 marriage as "West Cheshire, Civil Marriage or Registrar Attended".
The following report from The Liverpool Echo of 22 December 1959 MAY APPLY to this Ronald: "Chester Man Killed Getting Off Bus. An appeal for witnesses has been made by Chester Police following a fatal accident in Chester last night. Alfred Jones, a 76-years-old pedestrian, of 102 Chester Road, Huntington, Chester, was killed following an accident involving a motor-cycle driven by Roy James Stubbs, of Manor Farm, Kelsall, Chester. Both Stubbs and his pillion passenger, Ronald Crimes, of 34 Enfield Road, Ellesmere Port, were treated at Chester Royal Infirmary but were not detained." |
