From The Evening Sentinel of 7 August 1939: "CREWE BOY INJURED Ernest Crimes, aged 7, of Bradfield-road, Crewe, is in the Crewe Memorial Hospital suffering from injuries received when he was crushed between two builders' wagons at Coppenhall. His condition is stated to be 'satisfactory'". The 1961 marriage is not in the marriages index, but is found on CheshireBMD.org.uk. From The Crewe Chronicle of 25 March 1961: "WEDDINGS - MR. E. CRIMES AND MISS BERYL CLEWS [PHOTOGRAPH] The wedding took place at Christ Church, Crewe, on Saturday of Mr. Ernest Crimes, second son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Crimes, of 167, Bradfield-road, and Miss Beryl Clews, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. Clews, of 113, Mill-street, both of Crewe, The Rev. G. Dickenson conducted the ceremony and Mr. B. Ashurst was the organist. ... The bride, given away by her father, wore ... There were four bridesmaids. The misses F▮▮ Crimes (sister of the bridegroom) and C▮▮▮▮▮▮▮▮ Davies wore ... Miss B▮▮▮▮▮ Clews (sister) and Miss C▮▮▮▮ Crimes (niece of the bridegroom) wore ... The best man was Mr. Dennis Carr and the groomsmen were Messrs. G▮▮▮▮▮ Clews, H▮▮▮▮ Clews (brothers of the bride) and Donald Addis. A reception for over 70 guests was held at the Western Sports and Social Club and later the couple left for London ... " From The Chester Chronicle of 4 February 2009: "CRIMES ERNEST January 31 2009 Peacefully in St Lukes Hospice on the 31st January 2009, Ernest aged 77 years, and late of Wistaston. Beloved husband of the late Beryl, much loved dad of M▮▮▮ and G▮▮▮▮▮, and a much loved grandad of Leanne and Kerry. Ernest will be sadly missed by all his family and friends.
