From The Chester Chronicle of 3 March 1843: "INSOLVENT DEBTORS THOMAS CRIMES, the younger, late of George-street, in the city of Chester, and county of the same city, carpenter and joiner, a lodger, his wife and family residing in Back Brook-street, city of Chester aforesaid, in lodgings; and previously of Charles-street, Chester aforesaid, carpenter, joiner , and cowkeeper, sued as Thomas Crimes".
In The London Gazette of 28 February 1843 Thomas was listed as "in the Gaol of the city of Chester", presumably as a debtor.
From The Chester Chronicle of 17 July 1869: "Wm. Ringrose, Trafford-street, Thomas Crimes, Tower-street, Joseph Jackson, Church-street and Samuel Manley, Wellington-street, were each fined 25s. each and costs for keeping dogs without licenses."
