From The Cheshire Observer of 11 January 1947: "THE LATE MRS. A. CRIMES The funeral of Mrs. Alice Crimes, widow of Mr. Arthur Crimes, 42, Faulkner-street, Hoole, took place last Friday, the interment being at Chester Cemetery. Services at Hunter-street Methodist Church and at the graveside were conducted by the Rev. J.H. Barker. The mourners were: Mr.and Mrs. G.A. Crimes, Mr. and Mrs. W.H. Crimes (sons and daughters-in-law), Mr. and Mrs. J. Dacey (daughter and son-in-law), Misses Peggy and Jean Crimes and Mrs. A Simpson (grandchildren), Mrs. W.H. Crimes (sister-in-law) ...." Alice's Grant of Probate reads: "CRIMES Alice of 43 William Street Hoole near Chester widow died 30 December 1946 at 42 Faulkner Street Hoole. Probate Chester 18 February [1947] to George Arthur Crimes haulage contractor and Lily Dacey (wife of James Abraham Dacey). Effects: £776 9s." |
