From The Cheshire Observer of 21 October 1933: "NORLEY - BETHEL CHURCH HARVEST FESTIVAL At the Bethel Methodist Church harvest thanksgiving services held on Sunday, the preacher was the Rev. Walter Leicester, of Northwich. ... At the afternoon services anthems were rendered. Miss Edna Chrimes was the soloist. The Misses Rosie and Frances Chrimes sang a duet. Mr. Bertie Chrimes presided at the organ. The church was tastefully decorated with corn flowers, etc., by lady members and friends."
The 1939 Register gives date of birth as 7 March 1913 which is wrong.
Edna Mary's name is recorded as CHIMES on the marriage record.
From The Winsford Chronicle of 5 January 1946: "NORLEY - WEDDING OF MISS EDNA M CHRIMES The wedding took place on Monday at the Parish Church, the Rev. H.J.E. Williams officiating, of Mr. Ernest Lewis, son of Mr. and Mrs. T. Lewis, Cow-lane, to Miss Edna Mary Chrimes, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. Chrimes, of Norley. The bride wore ... She was attended by Mrs. A. Harvey, as matron of honour, and Miss Pearl Barrow (bridegroom's niece). Michael Chrimes (bride's nephew) was page. Mr. A. Harvey was best man, and Mr. N. Chrimes was the groomsman. About 30 guests attended the reception at the Temperance Hall. Afterwards Mr. and Mrs. E. Lewis left for Llandudno...."
From The Chester Chronicle of 22 July 1983: "OBITUARY - MRS E. LEWIS The funeral took place on Monday July 18 at St. John's Parish Church, Norley of Mrs. Edna Lewis of 244 Ship Street, Frodsham, who died on Monday July 11 at the City Hospital, Chester. The Rev. Morris W Davies conducted the service, which was followed by cremation at Walton Lea. The organist was Mr. A R. James. Family mourners were: Mr. E. Lewis (husband), Mr P. Lewis, Mr. J Lewis (sons), Mr. and Mrs. M. Chrimes, Mr. Alan Chrimes, Mrs. N. Chrimes, Mr. David Chrimes, Mrs. E. Chrimes, Mr. C. Chrimes, ..."
