"Dorothy M. Chrimes, 91, of Old Saybrook, loving wife of the late James W. Chrimes passed away Tuesday morning July 12th at Apple Rehabilitation in Old Saybrook. Dorothy was born in Essex on January 12, 1920 the daughter of the late William and Annette (Bonnell) Mowry. She had been a resident of Old Saybrook for the past eleven years and was formerly of Ivoryton. Dorothy was a member of the Winthrop Baptist Church. She loved wildlife and took great joy in bird watching. She was a loving homemaker to her family and is survived by her sons T▮▮▮▮▮ Chrimes of Newport, NH, R▮▮▮▮▮ Chrimes of Pensacola, FL, D▮▮▮▮ Chrimes of Old Saybrook, and her daughter D▮▮▮▮▮▮ J▮▮▮ Chrimes of Louisville, KY, six grandchildren: William, James, Michael, Susan, Lori, Steven, Jason, and 11 great grandchildren, and sister Evelyn Bangs of Deep River. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 23rd at 11:00 AM in the Centerbrook Cemetery, Westbrook Rd. in Centerbrook with a reception immediately following at Winthrop Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers please honor Dorothy with donations in her memory to the estate of Dorothy Chrimes to help with expenses.
