From The Manchester Evening News of 13 November 1943: "DEATHS CRIMES - On the 11th inst., in hospital, GRACE, dearly loved wife of Thomas William CRIMES (P.O.W., Japanese Hands) and dear daughter of William Henry and Sarah Siddall, aged 25 years. At rest - 156 Sutton Flats, Salford 6. Service St. Thomas's Church. 1 p.m., prior to interment at Agecroft Cemetery, 1 30 p.m., Tuesday..." The wording of this notice suggests that the family did not yet know about the death of Grace's husband Thomas William on 11 August.
Grace's Grant of Administration reads: "CRIMES Grace of 156 Sutton Flats Salford widow died 11 November 1943 at Winwick Emergency Hospital Winwick Lancashire. Administration Manchester 18 June to Thomas Crimes gas worker and Sarah Siddall married woman. Effects: £133 13s. 8d."
