From The Crewe Chronicle of 20 March 1948: "OBITUARY - MRS. J. CRIMES The funeral took place on Thursday of Mrs. Crimes, wife of Mr. John Crimes, 227, Broad-street. A service in the Bradfield-road Chapel, conducted by the Rev. A.K. Sutton preceded the interment in Coppenhall Churchyard. The mourners were Mr. John Crimes (husband), Miss Joan Crimes (daughter), Mrs. Warburton, Mrs. Prince, and Miss T. Warburton (nieces), Mrs. M.A. Crimes (mother-in-law), Mr. and Mrs. W. Crimes (brother-in-law and sister-in-law), ..." Mary Elizabeth's Grant of Administration reads: "CRIMES Mary Elizabeth of 227 Broad Street Crewe (wife of John Crimes) died 7 March 1948 at The District Memorial Hospital Crewe. Administration Chester 17 September to the said John Crimes rivetter. Effects: £154 2s. 9d." |
