Georgietta Crimes re-married in 1906 at Chester, implying that William James CRIMES died between 1901 and 1906. CheshireBMD gives the location of the 1906 marriage as "Chester, Civil Marriage or Registrar Attended". CheshireBMD gives alternative names at the 1906 marriage as Crimes or Shallcross, implying that Georgietta's maiden surname was SHALLCROSS. However, the Births Index record for "Georgetta HIGNETT 1874 Q3 Chester clearly applies, so the reason for the Shallcross reference is unknown. In 1921 Joseph and Georgietta's household consisted of themselves, 3 children of Georgietta by her first marriage to CRIMES, 2 daughters of their own, 3 boarders and 1 visitor. Total: 11 people in 8 rooms. The 1939 Register record is in the name Georgette and shows Georgietta to be a widow. Georgietta's Grant of Probate reads: "WRIGHT Georgietta of 17 Lorne-street Chester widow died 13 February 1947 Probate Chester 7 February [1948] to Mabel Elizabeth White (wife of John Leslie White) and the said John Leslie White retired postal official. Effects £1802 9s. 11d." |
