William married Sarah ONIONS in 1872, though they had been declared husband and wife in the 1871 England Census. What event enabled William to re-marry, to Alice CHRIMES, in 1884 is not known. I have not found any record of William travelling to United States but he clearly did so, as proven by the 1910 US Federal Census. William gave widely varying declarations of his age throughout his adult life. Ancestry member lylywhyt has identified William, widower on the 1920 US Federal Census at Scranton, Lackawanna but unfortunately this otherwise credible record gives incorrect dates for immigration and US naturalisation. I cannot find a death record for William. |
