From The Cheshire Observer of 23 September 1939: "We regret to record the death of Mr. Dennis Willington Crimes, of 116, Godstone-rd., Bigley, Surrey, which occurred on Wednesday last. Mr. Crimes, who was 23 years of age, was the son of Mr. Arthur Crimes, who lived at Hamilton street, Hoole, until about twelve months ago, and nephew of Mr. G.A. Crimes, member of the firm of Messrs. A. Crimes and sons, carriers, of 2 School street, Hoole. His grandfather was Mr. W.H. Crimes, commission agent, of Boughton."
