Alternative date of birth (1939 Register and LOPC Baptisms): 9 June 1900. I cannot find Bessie on the 1901 England Census. In 1921 Bessie was a Machinist (Pinafores, etc.) employed by J.W. Jenkins of West St., Warrington. Bessie's marriage record is chosen on the basis of elimination and location. Her age at marriage would be 47, but this is made more credible by the finding that her husband Tom was also born 1900. Also Bessie was described as spinster in her mother Polly's Grant of Probate record in 1944. Bessie's Grant of Probate reads: "ANTROBUS, Bessie of 43 Denbury Av Stockton Heath Warrington died 5 January 1985 Probate Liverpool 22 April £85191." |
