From The Cheshire Observer of 5 March 1976: "Death of Mrs. F. Crimes - The death occurred, on 26th February, in Chester City Hospital, of Mrs. Fanny Crimes, aged 78, of Moss Lane Cottage, Manley, wife of the late Mr. William Henry Crimes. The funeral took place on 1st March, when a service at St. John the Evangelist Church, Ashton Hayes, was conducted by Canon E.H. Barnes. The organist was Mr. Stephen Carter. The mourners were: Mr. W. Crimes (son), Mr. and Mrs. M.R. Bloor (son-in-law and daughter), Mrs. D. Jenkins (sister), ... Mrs. M. Crimes, Mrs. E Dutton (sisters-in-law), ... "
