In the 1921 England Census Sidney Gordon was employed by Arthur Chrimes [his father] Costumier & Furrier At Home. In the 1939 Register the name is given as Sydney G. Sidney Gordon did not marry. From The Eastbourne Gazette of 30 May 1951: "Gazette Gossip. In this column last week were reminiscences about the old horse-buses, electric cooking and early pleasure steamers - all from an interesting letter I had received from Mr. S G Chrimes of Wytham, Dane-road, Seaford......The person who collects photos of old pleasure steamers and sailing bills and who will be glad to hear from any readers having any dated before 1902 is Mr. Chrimes, whose address is given above. A further recollection of Mr. Chrimes is pre-First World War Sundays in Eastbourne, when there was no bathing, bands or buses...." Sidney Gordon's Grant of Probate record reads: "CHRIMES Sidney Gordon of Wytham Dane Road Seaford Sussex died 5 December 1951 at Esperance Nursing Home Hartington Place Eastbourne Probate Lewes 22 January [1952] to Walter George Burt and Peter Berry solicitors.
