From The Cheshire Observer of 4 November 1944: "OBITUARY Mr. George Crimes. The death has occured of Mr. George Crimes, of 6, Willis-road, Erith, brother of Mr. Claude Crimes, a member of Chester City Council. Aged 53, he will be remembered for his association with Erith Fellowship Centre, at one time an organisation of great importance, of which he was secretary. Between 1934 and 1937, Mr. Crimes served as an independent member of Erith Council. He is survived by four daughters. The funeral took place at Erith Cemetery, Rev. S.F. Allison officiating."
