The only credible Births Index record is at Macclesfield 1862 Q2. Ellen was baptised 26 years after her birth. I cannot find Ellen on the 1881 or 1891 UK Census. Ellen did not marry. From The Manchester Evening News of 21 October 1914: "DEATHS - CHRIMES - On the 19th, at Levenshulme, ELLEN, the beloved daughter of the late John Henry and Matilda CHRIMES, ages 52 years. For many years a faithful servant to the Misses Nunn, Ardwick. Interment at Weaste, Thursday, 3 o'clock; service at Cemetery." Ellen's Grant of Probate record reads: "CHRIMES Ellen of 12 Thorncliffe Road Levenshulme Manchester spinster died 19 October 1914 Probate London 14 November to Arthur Chrimes commercial traveller. Effects £491 17s 11d" Arthur was Ellen's brother. |
