I cannot find Charles on the 1891 UK Census. An Electoral Register 'Absent Voters' record for 1918 gives military service details as '17526 Pte., Lancs. Fus.' and relates to this Charles because of the given home address. A FindMyPast Britain, Campaign, Gallantry & Long Service Medals & Awards record for "Charles Crimes", who served in WWI as Private in the Army Service Corps (Service Number: R4/063407) is thought to relate to this Charles, but the connection is not otherwise proven. In 1921 Charles was employed by Mr. Herbert Fordsmith, Taper Pin and Key Manufacturer of 14 Hadfield St., Cornbrook, M/c. |
