Winifred Norton ... met with an accident on Thursday whilst working at a portable thrashing machine at the farm of Mr. Jonathan Davies, of Wervin... and died soon afterwards at the Infirmary... William Crimes, a labourer in the employ of Mr. Henry Davies, stated that he travels with his master's thrashing machine, which is of a portable nature and driven by steam power.... the deceased accidentally slipped and got her foot between the drum and the floor..." |
