In the 1921 England Census Augustus was 'Patient' at an Institution near Bristol.
The 1921 England Census record describes Hanham Hall as "Hanham Hall, Hanham, Near Bristol, Warden Of The incorporation of National Institutions For persons Requiring care & Control". There are probably errors in this transcription, making it difficult to understand the reason for his placement there.
Augustus was enlisted into the Royal Tank Corps of the British Army on 26 January 1928. Service Number: 2217058. He appears to have served until at least 1934.
