Samuel's Will (Samuel CHRIMES of Comberbach) has been contributed to this research by Sylvia Whalley nee CHRIMES. It is also accessible online at FamilySearch.org. Samuel's Will does not mention a wife or children. Philip CRIMES has established that Samuel did in fact marry, but the assumption is that his wife Sarah died before the 1841 England Census. From The Chester Courant of 28 July 1829: "To be sold by Auction, by Mr. Topham, at the house of Mr. Samuel Chrimes, the sign of The Spinner, in Comberbach, in the county of Chester, on Thursday the 6th day of August 1829, at the hour of four in the afternoon, ....". Samuel appears on the Index of Death Duty Registers in 1849 as 'Chrimes, Samuel. Gt. Budworth, Cheshire. Executor: Benjamin Chrimes, same pl[ace].' |
