Her baptism record shows that Mabel Worthington was baptised CHRIMES, with her mother declared as Ada CHRIMES but no father's name given. I presume this renders her illegitimate. Mabel Worthington is connected to her parents by her gravestone inscription. In 1914 Mabel Worthington's mother Ada married at Crowton (4 years after her birth). In the 1911 England Census Mabel Worthington was with her grandparents Joseph and Alice [WORTHINGTON], not with her mother Ada. In the 1921 England Census Mabel Worthington was living in Crowton, with her grandmother Alice WORTHINGTON. In 1921 Mabel Worthington was attending school 'Whole Time'. Mabel Worthington's Administration record reads: "CHRIMES Mabel Worthington of 14 The Avenue Comberbach near Northwich Cheshire died 21 September 1965 at The Grange Hospital Weaverham Cheshire Administration Chester 22 April to Bernard Harvey Wilkinson docker. £1093." Mabel Worthington's gravestone inscription reads: "In loving memory of HARVEY beloved husband of ADA WILKINSON who died 9 June 1969 aged 81 years. Also the above ADA WILKINSON who died 25 January 1963 aged 81 years. Also MABEL daughter of the above who died 22 September 1865[sic] aged 55 years." |
