See The Proceedings of The Old Bailey for a summary of Leonard's Prosecution for blackmail. At the 1898 trial Leonard was said to have the alias "Charles Mitchell" In the 1901 census Richard CHRIMES, Edward CHRIMES and Leonard CHRIMES were all "Convicts" in Carisbrooke, Hampshire. This must be Parkhurst Prison on the Isle of Wight. Leonard was declared as Single. I cannot find Leonard on the 1911 census. Perhaps, like his brother Edward, he changed his name. |
