Another obituary, from Find-a-Grave: "Hays Crymes, 82, of Newnata died Thursday, September 12, 2013 at Stone County Skilled Nursing Facility in Mountain View. He was born February 19, 1931 in Newnata, Arkansas to Orus (Ode) and Georgia Dodson Crymes. He was a retired truck driver from Banquet Foods, Stone County Road Department, and the Ozark Folk Center and volunteer firefighter with Timbo Fire Department. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Big Springs Church. Hays was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather and loved spending time with his family and telling them stories about his life. He was instrumental in the construction of the Newnata fire station. He and Jean spent their evenings and weekends going door-to-door rallying the community and taking donations for the station. Some of his hobbies included talking on the CB, meeting friends for coffee at Hardees, mowing his yard, and working on projects in his shop. He was preceded in death by his wife Nelda Jean Freeze Crymes, his parents, sister Hazel Gammill, and an infant sister. He is survived by two sons, his grandchildren, an unborn great-grandson, his special friend [living] and a host of other relatives and friends. The funeral service will be Sunday, September 15, 2013 at 2 pm at Roller Coffman chapel with burial in Big Springs Cemetery in Newnata." |
