Mildred's newspaper obituary reads: "Georgetown. Mildred Crymes Young, 78, died May 31 2010 at Georgetown Memorial Hospital. Born on July 7 1931 at Greenville, she was a daughter of the late Thomas G Crymes and the late Mildred Wimbish [sic] Crymes. Dr. Young was a devoted longtime member of Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Greenville and also attended All Saints Anglican Church in Aiken when she moved there in 2007. She is remembered by many as the owner/manager of Hitching Post Farm in Greenville from 1967 to 1983. She was an educator in Greenville County for more than 30 years and was instrumental in writing and teaching the first program for the gifted and talented after receiving her Ph.D. in gifted education from the University of Georgia." It is notable that Mildred's husband is listed neither as surviving nor pre-deceased. |
