From the Find-a-Grave record: "William "Bill" Conner [sic] Crymes, aged 97 years, passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 31, 2023. Mr. Crymes lived a life surrounded by loved ones and he is preceded in death by many of them, both friends and family. Mr. Crymes is survived by a loving family that includes children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Bill was born September 26, 1925, in Fulton County, Georgia. Finding farm work to be something that he truly despised, Bill found work as a leather tanner which was, in his words, "even worse than farming." In late 1944, like many young men of his generation, Bill was swept into the war serving in the Pacific in the U.S. Army Air Corps. The military agreed with Bill, and he spent the next ten years serving our country both in the Air Corps and the U.S. Air Force. His service ended in 1954 and, married with a growing young family, Bill buckled down and went to school to become an engineer which led to a successful career in the aerospace industry. Anyone who knew Bill knew a man who never took life for granted. He lived his considerably long life to the top. He was always busy, working to make a better life for his family, improving his community, and finding ways to have the best time possible wherever he found himself.
