In the 1946 obituary of his brother Lincoln P, Paul E is described as of "USN, San Diego". From The Hattiesburg American of Saturday 23 June 1937: "Mr. and Mrs. Crymes were married on Christmas Day 1936 at San Diego, Calif." Paul E was the subject of a lengthy story in the Ruston Daily Leader (Louisiana) newspaper of Friday 24 October 1975 entitled "Paul E Crymes recalls 27 years of US Navy Life" from which: "...Paul was born at Raleigh, Miss. on January 19 1902... In early 1947, 27 years after his first enlistment, Chief Electrician Mate Paul E Crymes retired from the Navy....For nearly two decades Crymes worked at Lowry AFB near Denver. Upon retiring at age 65 he returned to Ruston." |
