Lincoln Palmer spent some time as a Merchant Seaman. From The Hayward Review of Tuesday 26 February 1946: "Lincoln P Crymes, 42, 19615 Forest Avenue, former marine engineer, died last night two hours after he was struck by an automobile while crossing the intersection at Castro Valley boulevard and Forest avenue. Crymes was struck by the right front fender of the car and knocked unconscious. He was taken to Fairmont hospital where he died ay 9:30 pm.... Crymes had worked as a marine engineer in the Canal Zone for a while and was presently employed as a night engineer for a San Francisco firm.... He is survived by his wife Dorothy, three sisters, Judith Crymes of Louisiana, Mrs. Clyde S Rogers of Louisiana and Mrs. Marjorie Bagioli of Louisiana; three brothers, R J Crymes of San Francisco, Paul E Crymes, USN San Diego and J D Crymes of Mississippi. Funeral service will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 at Sorensen Bros. Chapel, with burial at Lane Tree Cemetery." |
