In the 1950 US Census John Charlie and Evelyn Jessie were living with Evelyn Jessie's CHAPMAN parents.
Evelyn Jessie's obituary reads: "Evelyn Jessie Chapman Crymes, 89, of Easley, died Monday, December 12, 2011. Born in Greenville County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas B. and Laura Spelts Chapman and widow of John C. "Jake" Crymes. Mrs. Crymes was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. Surviving are a sister-in-law, Ellen C. Bouchillon of Greenville; nephews, Larry Crymes (Mary) and Lonnie Crymes; and great nephew Keith Crymes, his wife Debbie and their children, Daniel, Steven and Madison. Mrs. Crymes was preceded in death by two brothers, Maxwell and Marvin Chapman. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at Graceland Cemetery East."
