From Northam News of 5 April 1950: "Waite-Chrimes Wedding. A very pretty wedding was solomised [sic] at the Northam Methodist Church on Saturday, March 18. The contracting parties being Mae, youngest daughter and step-daughter of Mrs and Mr J. Halse of Mokine and the late Mr Geo Waite to Roy [sic], elder son of Mr and Mrs J. Chrimes of Hoddy's Well. The bride who entered the church on the arm of her step-father ... Her attendants were Miss Nita Bloomfield (cousin of the groom) and Miss Elaine Campbell (cousin of the bride)... The best man was Mr Owen Bloomfield and Mr C. Halse acted as groomsman. After the ceremony about 50 relatives gathered at the breakfast held in the Railway Institute and later Mrs Halse assisted by Mrs Chrimes received a large number of friends who were entertained to supper and dancing in the hall. Mr Joe Christmass' band was in attendance and a very enjoyable evening was spent. The wedding cake (a gift) was made by the bride's aunt Mrs Campbell and decorated by Mrs Dight. Many beautiful and useful gifts were received. The happy couple left for Albany to enjoy a fortnight's honeymoon."
