In the 1921 England Census Emily was a 'Servant' in the household of Samuel Arthur CHRIMES ('single') and his mother ('widow'). Emily Mary appears on the Electoral Register of 1929 ("Dyson, Emily, Miss") and The 1939 Register as the only other resident of a household in Brixham with Samuel Arthur CHRIMES, and she was the recipient of Samuel Arthur's Grant of Probate in 1960 (though described therein as 'spinster'), so a non-marital relationship is presumed. The birth record at Dudley and the consistent death record at Torbay are chosen based on location and elimination. |
