From Find-a-Grave: "COOKEVILLE -- Graveside services and interment for Sam Holladay Poteet, 72, of Nashville, formerly of Cookeville, will be held at 10 a.m. on Fri., Dec. 24, at Cookeville City Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Mon., Dec. 28, at Belle Meade United Methodist Church in Nashville. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Mr. Poteet died on Wed., Dec. 22, 1999, at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville. He was born on Aug. 17, 1927, in Algood to the late Sam Denton and Berilla Holladay Poteet. Mr. Poteet was a retired sales representative for Elk Corporation. He was a Navy CB veteran of World War II. He was also a member of the Belle Meade United Methodist Church. His family includes his wife, A▮▮ Crymes Poteet; two sons, S▮▮ H▮▮▮▮▮▮▮ Poteet Jr. of Nashville, and J▮▮▮▮ R▮▮ Poteet of Olympia, Wash.; a sister, D▮▮▮▮ Alford of Kingston; two brothers, J▮▮▮ Poteet of Cookeville and G▮▮▮▮▮ Poteet of Carthage; and eight grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert (Bob) Poteet. Pallbearers will be James Murchison, David Young, Robert, Phillip, Sanford and Jack Poteet."
