From The Rochdale Observer of 15 February 1941: "BIRTHS - At Birch Hill Maternity Home, on Feb. 11th, to Mr. and Mrs. E. Chrimes (née Margaret Wills) of 50 Spotland Road, a son. Both well." The assignment of the three marriages to Eric Antony has been verified by his son A J. From the Find-a-Grave record (for Eric Anthony [sic] "Tony" Crimes [sic]): "CHRIMES Eric Antony Passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Saturday 21st January 2023. Beloved and much loved Husband and soulmate of C▮▮▮▮▮▮▮▮. Extremely proud and loving Dad and cherished Father-in-law. Dear Brother and Brother-in-law. Devoted & proud Grand. Respected and caring Uncle. Tony will be greatly missed by all his family and friends. Funeral service to take place on Wednesday 22nd February at 10:45am St Edmund's Church, Clement Royds St, Rochdale, OL12 6PL followed by committal at Rochdale Crematorium at 11:50am." |
