The 1939 Register suggests that Emma had married Walter LEWIS before 1939, so that her own surname could not be LEWIS. This led to the 1930 marriage, giving the surname as BANKS, and this in turn led to a WWI Service record for her father giving her exact date of birth as declared in the 1939 Register. The 1960 marriage is assigned to this Emma based on location and elimination, Emma's second husband William CHRIMES having died in 1955. This assignment is supported by the 1939 Register. |
