John's birth index record is in the name CRIMES. John is connected to his parents by his father's obituary. John appears on the 1920 US Federal Census, but this particular page is almost indecipherable, though the location of Oneida County is very credible and place of birth is given as England. John's WWI Draft Registration record gives his date of birth as 7 July 1884 which is not consistent with 1885Q2 registration unless registration was delayed. This same record names him as John Brockersen CHRIMES. This same record gives his nearest relative as Thomas Chrimes 602 Elm St., Rome which exactly matches Thomas's record on the 1920 US Federal Census, confirming John's parentage beyond doubt. John Brockersen was alive at the date of his father's death in 1926 but I cannot find any records for him after that. |
