In the 1921 England Census, Eileen's place of birth was declared, with unusual accuracy, to be '15 Greenhill Avenue, Liverpool'. In 1921 Eileen was attending school 'Whole Time'. A 1930 newspaper report referencing attainments at Harrogate, Queen Ethelburga's School, for "Eileen Chrimes (Physics)" may apply. From The Liverpool Echo of 21 November 1930: "I don't remember so many pretty girls being "out" together as there seem to be this season in Liverpool. At all the recent functions "good-lookers" have come along in dozens. Several made their debut at the Red Triangle Ball, at the Adelphi, and among them Mr. W.B. Chrimes' bonny daughter, Eileen, who has only recently left school. She was wearing her first long frock - a simple crystal embroidered, white chiffon affair, which suited her admirably." From The Liverpool Echo of 11 June 1937: "A MEDICAL UNION - DR. EILEEN CHRIMES TO WED An interesting medical wedding is foreshadowed by to-day's announcement of the engagement of Dr. Henry Richard Glasbrook Davies, only son of the Rev. Canon G.R. Davies and Mrs. Davies, of Llanrhos Vicarage, Llandudno, and formerly Rural Dean of Wrexham, and Dr. Eileen Chrimes [PHOTOGRAPH], only daughter of Mr. W.B. Chrimes, of Windrush, Bidston, managing director of Cooper's London, Liverpool and Glasgow, and Mrs. Chrimes. Dr. Davies took his degree at Liverpool University, became house surgeon, then house physician, at Northern Hospital, and is at present house surgeon at the Liverpool Maternity Hospital. Dr. Chrimes took her degree at Liverpool University, and began her medical work at the Royal Infirmary, beginning as house surgeon, and is now house physician." From The Liverpool Echo of 11 June 1938: DR. EILEEN CHRIMES MARRIED AT BIDSTON [PHOTOGRAPH in 13 June edition] ... Three hundred guests attended the wedding and reception, and later the bride and bridegroom left for a honey-moon at Juan les Pins..." Eileen became a GP in Wales. I cannot find a specific death record for Eileen. |
