Alternative place of birth: Rhosllanerchrugog. From The Staffordshire Advertiser of 21 November 1936: "At Shropshire Assizes on Wednesday, Freda Chrimes (aged 18), domestic servant, pleaded not guilty to a charge of wilful perjury at Baschurch police court on April 16. She was found guilty and the Judge ordered her to be brought up for sentance at Stafford Assizes. It was alleged that in an affiliation case before the Baschurch magistrates, Chrimes, who had since married, declared that she did not attend a jubilee fete dance at Loppington, where she then lived, declaring that she was dancing twelve miles away." Although Freda divorced William Arthur JONES and later re-married, her death record is in the name JONES. The information about the 1961 second marriage is from Jo Ellis, Freda's granddaughter, which is consistent with a Marriages Index record. |
