J▮▮▮▮▮▮ S was an amateur athlete. For example, from The Liverpool Echo of 14 July 1962: "...J. S. Chrimes of Winnington Park who was third in the 440 yards in 51.6 seconds, and the holder of the 440 yards title..." From The Winsford Chronicle of 17 April 1969: [PHOTOGRAPH] "Picured at their wedding at Davenham Parish Church on Saturday are Mr. J▮▮▮▮▮▮ S▮▮▮▮▮ Chrimes, son of Mrs. Evelyn Chrimes, of 83 Cromwell-road, Northwich, and Miss J▮▮ Woodall, daughter of the late Mr. C.H. Woodall and Mrs. J. Brennan, of 8 Beach-road, Hartford. The Rev. J.R. Haynes officiated. The bridegroom who is employed as a civil engineer with Runcorn Development Corporation, was educated King's School, Chester and Salford University. The bride, a former pupil of Northwich County Grammar School for Girls, is employed by the Westminster Bank Ltd., Northwich." J▮▮▮▮▮▮ S wrote to The Northwich Guardian in 2013 complaining about the demolition of The Round Tower at Sandiway following it being damaged by a car.
