There is a full history for another John CHRIMES b.1823 Warrington, who emigrated to the USA, married there and started a large CHRIMES family. His records consistently give his date of birth as 1823, and his brother Thomas b.1831 also emigrated, initially to Canada before joining John in Chicago, USA. So the balance of probability is that this John was born to John and Martha in 1824, and the other (USA) John to John and Ann in 1823.
